The bell tower of this temple is the first glimpse you will get when coming from Wasala Road. It was donated in 1908 by a family member of the Dias Bandaranaike family after the death of her husband. The temple itself dates from 1852. The temple complex also contains an old Dharmashala building, which is currently used for classes. There is also an old canon in the garden; it is believed that this is a leftover of a perahera which was being held during the British period.
